Vision of Founder

Prof. Hossam Hamdy
Chancellor
Gulf Medical University
It is with great pleasure that I share some updates from Gulf Medical University in our newsletter. This is a momentous year for us, and we are proud to celebrate 25 years of excellence in medical education and the global impact which is reflected in our diverse community of over 3500 graduates, practicing around the world, from 90 countries. It serves as a testament to the rich legacy that Gulf Medical University has built.
A significant milestone in realizing our Vision 2028, our five-year plan, is the inauguration of the new GMU Alumni Board. Our focus is firmly set on expanding our medical education programs with the aim of doubling our student intake and achieving a balance between theoretical and practical training. This reflects our commitment towards delivering value to society as a whole.
In line with our dedication to innovation, Gulf Medical University has undertaken several new initiatives. We are proud to introduce Healthvarsity, an Ed Tech venture as well as establish the College of Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare. These initiatives exemplify our approach, in staying ahead of dynamic market trends and addressing the evolving demands of the health professions industry.
As we look to the future, we are filled with anticipation for the growth opportunities that lie ahead. We have key expansions in the pipeline that we’re particularly thrilled about. The upcoming Thumbay Incubator Hub and the state-of-the-art Thumbay College of Veterinary Medicine showcase our dedication to excellence and progress. Moreover, we are pleased to announce our plans for establishing Thumbay Medical University’s global presence, and these endeavors demonstrate our commitment to making an impact on a global level.
I would like to express my gratitude to the outgoing members of the Alumni Association, especially Dr. Danavanthi Bangera, for their efforts in elevating the Association’s status over the past two years. And I would like to extend a warm welcome to the newly elected President, Dr. Omar Nabi, and the entire team of the GMU Alumni Board, assuring them of our full support and cooperation.
In the journey ahead, I urge the GMU Alumni Board to lead with compassion, to uplift those around you as you climb the ladder of success. Let us remember that it is perfectly acceptable to seek guidance and support. I hope that your actions embody the values of honesty and excellence, one that Gulf Medical University upholds.
Welcome to the Gulf Medical University’s Alumni Board, and I look forward to the continued progress and success that you shall accomplish.
